Sylvite resources
The geological structures of Feicheng is sylvite mine belong to the Dawenkou basin. The ore bed is 1,085.65-1,086.83 m buried deep, 1.18 m thick; average K2O content is 10.92%,converting to K2SO4 is20.21%. The trend is north-east and inclination of mining area is relatively gentle.Ore divides into two natural types:① langbeinite(K2SO4.2Ｍg SO4). This kind of ore offers itself agglomerate or strip shape and produces in rock salt. The composed rock salt stone which contains the langbeinite has the tiny bedding texture. Its depth is 1085.65-1086.23 m,thick 0.58 m, average K2O content 5.22%, converting to K2SO4 being 7.66%;② compact piece. It is the ore bed of the langbeinite that contains the stone rock.. The hole depth is 1086.23-1086.86 m, thick 0.60 m, average K2O content 16.52%, converting to K2SO4 being 30.76%. The other hole depth is 1086.83-1087.18 m, thick 0.35 m ,containg the few scattered mineral of the langbeinite.
According to the result of chemical analysis, the calculated minerals: the langbeinite is 47.36%, the loweite 0.72%, the salt 48.08%, the polyhalite 1.68% and the kieserite 0.42%.
As approved by Shandong Province Gelogical and Minerals Department(84) Lu Di Shen Zi No.22, the sylvite reserves in the boundary are 9,440,000 tons and average grade K2O takes 10.92%
The langbeinite belong to an easy dissolvable mineral, and it is suitable for the water dissolved mining.
